Ryan has worked in the health and fitness field since 1998.  His first exposure to personal training occurred while attending Western Washington University, where he assisted with a graduate study that researched the effects of strength training in older adults.  He became hooked on the idea of helping people achieve a better quality of life after training several amazing and inspirational individuals, and observing how their overall health and physical capabilities significantly improved.

Since receiving a BS in Exercise/Sports Science, Ryan has worked as an Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer with clients of all ages, experience levels, and varying degrees of physical health.  He has earned several industry recognized certifications, while furthering his education through scientific and health-related workshops and conferences.

Ryan takes a wholehearted approach to his training methodology.  He is devoted to providing an effective and efficient function and science-based training program that is structured around his clients.  This includes learning and sharing current health and fitness research, and reapplying it in a practical and sustainable way.  Ryan is committed to helping his clients achieve their goals – from training to perform at a competitive level to improving function after an injury.  He understands that exercise can be challenging, but with proper application, encouragement and coaching, even the least motivated clients can find enjoyment.

Since 2005, he has been the co-owner of a reputable personal training studio in Silicon Valley.  In early 2016, Ryan and his family moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon and have thoroughly enjoyed being back in the Pacific Northwest.  In the Summer of 2019, he and his family headed further up north into Washington, and now resides in Sammamish.
